FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What subjects are covered by the Compass and GED tests?

• Compass -- Reading, writing and math.
• GED ---- Reading, writing, math, science and social studies. Students must first attend
  a GED registration session.

How long does each test take?

• COMPASS (This is an untimed test but the average time for most people is listed.)

  • All three ------------------ about 1-1/2 to 2 hours.
  • Math ---------------------- 45 minutes.
  • Reading and writing --- about 1 hour 15 minutes.

• GED

  • GED Registration ------- 45 minutes      
  • Reading ------------------ 1 hr 5 minutes      
  • Social  Studies ---------  1 hr 10 min      
  • Science -----------------   1 hr 20 min      
  • Writing ------------------  2 hrs      
  • Math --------------------- 1 hr 30 min
