Advantages of the Running Start Program
There are several advantages to enrolling in the Running Start Program including free tuition, advanced coursework, and more.

Eligibility
There are several eligibility requirements to meet to be admitted to the Running Start Program.  In addition, students must be mature and ready to handle the learning environment at the college level.

How to Apply to Running Start and get started
There are six steps to complete your applications to the Running Start program.

Registering for Classes
Newly accepted Running Start students will be given registration appointments along with other college students. You will be scheduled for registration and orientation at the college. Attending an orientation/registration session is mandatory and necessary to complete the registration process. There is no guarantee that space will be available, but if you come at your appointed time, you will enhance your chances of getting registered.

Profile: Running Start Students Share

 

Meet Cyndrea Brown, a first-year Running Start student here at Shoreline Community College from Ingraham High School. Her journey to our campus began in a very typical way. Her older sister was a previous Running Start student who attended North Seattle Community College. But when her chance to enroll in the program came, she toured the North Seattle campus but also took advice from her track coach who had attended SCC and suggested she visit our campus before deciding where to apply. Spring time was the perfect time to visit our beautiful campus. Cyndrea said she was impressed by the campus and decided to apply to SCC. > more
