LPNs are admitted each quarter: fall,
winter, & spring.
A. Graduation from an accredited
practical nursing program within the last ten
years.
B. A current, unencumbered Washington LPN license
C. COMPASS test scores showing math placement above
intermediate algebra (Math 99) and placement for English
101 into reading and writing within one year prior to
application.
D. The following pre-requisite courses
1) Chemistry 5 credits of college chemistry within 15
years. (Chem& 121)
2) Anatomy and Physiology for 10 credits (Bio& 231 &
Bio& 232) within 10 years
3) Microbiology 5 credits (Bio& 260) within 10 years
4) Lifespan development 5 credits (Psyc& 200)
5) Nutrition 3-5 credits (Nutr& 101)
6) English Composition (Engl& 101)
E. Currently, only LPNs with current practice
experience are being considered for advanced placement.
Yes. Admission is selective and completion of all of
the required non-nursing and required SCC General
Education courses at the time of application is
mandatory.
Required Shoreline General Education courses:
- Quantitative Reasoning 5 credits (Chem& 121 fullfills
the QR requirement)

B. Call Shoreline Admissions at 206-546-4621 to take
courses here: and
C. Begin taking the non-nursing courses to prepare for
admission.
A. The application is

B. Complete the
application, following all the directions carefully and
including all requested information. Then print out the
application as directed on the screen.
C. Send in the
application and all required materials with your $15.00
application fee to the Nursing Program.
D. Send an official
copy of all transcripts to BOTH the Nursing Program
Admissions (with your application in the original sealed
envelope) and to the College Admissions (if not
previously sent). For Shoreline courses, you may request
a free internal transcript to be sent to the Nursing
Program.

Four quarters. The first quarter you will not
be required to take a clinical course. You will take
theory and skills lab only. After that, you will be
taking both theory and clinical.
Yes, you may work but we recommend that you limit
your hours to 20 per week. You will be carrying a
full-time academic load.
