All students in need of help paying for college should apply by completing the federal Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) application, the Shoreline Financial Aid Data Sheet and all other required items. Generally, the amount of financial aid eligibility is the difference between the cost of attending college and what the student and/or the student's family are expected to contribute. The expected family contribution (EFC) is calculated according to a federal formula, using the information on the completed Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) application.

The FAFSA is completed on the internet, the Shoreline CC data sheet is a paper form submitted to the office, and additional documents might be required. Loan processes are separate and require additional steps. Students are encouraged to not delay their application. It is a good idea to complete the entire application process three months before you wish to start school. Students may seek assistance from the Financial Aid office.

Check the Calendar to determine the start of the next quarter and for quarterly deadlines.

To apply for the 2009-2010 academic year (Summer 2009 through Spring 2010) begin with the 2009-2010 FAFSA (available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov). Our federal school code is 003791.
