Men's basketball season shaping up

This year is looking up for the men’s basketball team. Without any hesitation, first year Coach Menday said, “The team has good chemistry and works well together.”
There are players from last year, all with potential. Menday has singled out Maurice Reed, Jason Goodwin, and Delvaughn Tinned right away. Maurice was All Conference 2nd Team with Jason and Delvaughn receiving honorable mentions as well. There are a total of 7 sophomores this year, “All 7 of the players are shaping up and have potential to go to the next level,” said Menday.

Athletics surfing the gas prices wave of 2005

In a world of rising gas prices, the reverberations from the moans and groans of daily drivers can be detected nationwide. Long gone are the days of gas being below $2 per gallon and not caring about mediocre mileage, and with this change brings some much needed adjusting. Community College Athletics are no exception.
Over the past two years, the cost of driving community college athletes to face opponents has skyrocketed from twenty-five cents per mile in 2004, to an unheard of sixty-five cents per mile in 2005. That’s an increase of more than two and a half times the cost over a period of one year.

Lady Dolphins head to playoffs

Shoreline Community College women’s soccer team continues to kick opponents all over the field with dominating performances. Over the last three games, Shoreline has scored a total of 22 goals in three games while not letting a single goal be scored against them by division rivals Everett, Skagit Valley, and Edmonds.
With one game remaining, on Nov. 5, they look to take an unbeaten record (11 wins – 0 loses – 4 ties) into the NWACC playoffs on Nov. 19 and 20. Shoreline is tied with Clackamas Community College out of Oregon as the second most prolific scoring team in the entire NWACC this year. Walla Walla leads the NWACC with the best scoring record.
