Dan's Broken Heart Speaks:
Why girls should wear nametags
Romeo Gayle
Ebbtide Staff Reporter’s Broken Heart
Yes, it is true. I, Romeo Gayle, was broken. Into two pieces I was split. Sundered
by the swift stroke of that merciless villain known as love. A tender soul torn in two
by circumstances beyond my control. I shall tell you my tale, but beware! Some may
not be able to withstand the emotions that shall well up from within and flow outward
into your tear ducts. You are forewarned.
Not long ago, I was asked to participate in a dancing workshop.
We would be learning the dance known as the Charleston. As fate would have

I must first say that I believe locking people up is never the key. Instead,
education about life choices, consequences, dangers of addiction, and above
all training people for the job market so they can make a living without considering

ridden a bus to go to school for almost five years.
I came here five years ago from Tokyo, Japan. The metro and transportation
systems in Tokyo are well organized, with convenient trains running every few
minutes. Unfortunately, the cities of Seattle and Shoreline don’t have a great metro
system like that of Japan. Do you know how students feel having to take a bus every
day to go to school? Maybe students who have a car will say, “who cares, right?”
But for those who do ride the bus it is very stressful waiting to catch the bus to school.
