- Go see The Division of Laura Lee, The Catheters, Burning Brides, and Ruby Doe Feb. 1 at the Crocodile.

Tickets $10 adv. or $12 DOS, at Ticketmaster or Ticketweb, show at 8 pm. The Division of Laura Lee is yet another band from Sweden, they're not as infectious as the Hives, or appealing as Sahara Hotnights; I guess what I'm saying is you might actually like them.

UNCLE SAM HAS MOVED TO JAMAICA!

He's sick of Georgie-Boy, capitalism, and "The Bachelor."

Now that I have your attention! Hi there, I am the Arts and Entertainment Editor for the Ebbtide.

I'm writing this, not only as an introduction, but also as an invitation to you as the reader to submit your works and criticisms.

I will try my best to appeal to your needs as readers of the Ebbtide, but also ask that you make your personal tastes clear to me so that I can better address the music, movies, television, and happenings that interest you most.

I will also accept any reviews, pictures, poetry, funny short stories, or anything else that pertains to the A&E column.

I plan to keep my section so that it appeals to a wide variety of people, and in order to do that I need your feedback and submissions.

Send your submissions and feedback to Brian Kerin at a_e_webbtide@yahoo.com
- Go see Dub Championz Feb. 5 and 12 at the Rainbow on 45th.

Cover is only $2 and ladies get in free. Also, Red Stripes are just $2. The Dub Championz performs a wonderful set of dub-reggae that will make the hippies dance till last call. And if that won't get you to check them out, Red Stripes are only $2.

- Go see Spearhead and Tre Hardson of Pharcyde Feb. 6 at the Showbox.

Tickets $17.50 adv. or $25 DOS at Fastixx, doors at 8 pm. Michael Franti is a one of the most respected activists in the Northwest; as well, Spearhead are one of the most soulful sounding bands; either way this show is sure to be good.

- Go see Pretty Girls Make Graves and the New Mexicans Feb. 7 at the Graceland.

Tickets $8 adv. at Ticketweb, Doors at 8 pm. I can't say enough good stuff about the Pretty Girls; the lead singer is a short gal with an enormous voice and the rest of the guys have a wonderful musical chemistry.

- Go see Interpol and Calla Feb. 13 at the Showbox.

Tickets $15 adv through Fastixx, doors at 8 pm. Interpol is the newest band to get signed after playing to New York audiences for quite some time. The band mixes dirty guitar sounds with an offsetting rhythm section; this is my pick for the week.
