IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, YOU WRITE IT!!!

Hi there, I am the Arts and Entertainment Editor for the Ebbtide.

I'm writing this, not only as an introduction, but also as an invitation to you as the reader to submit your works and criticisms.

I will try my best to appeal to your needs as readers of the Ebbtide, but also ask that you make your personal tastes clear to me so that I can better address the music, movies, television, and happenings that interest you most. I will also accept any reviews, pictures, poetry, funny short stories, or anything else that pertains to the A&E column.

I plan to keep my section so that it appeals to a wide variety of people, and in order to do that I need your feedback and submissions.

Send your submissions and feedback to Brian Kerin at a_e_webbtide@yahoo.com
Go see Something Corporate, The Juliana theory, The Red West and Vendetta Red Jan. 23 at the Showbox. Tickets $15 adv. doors at 7 p.m. show at 8. Tickets will go fast for this show; matter of fact, they might be sold out by the time this comes out, so good luck!

Go see Shortbus, Private Stock and Rewind Jan. 24 at the Firehouse in Ballard. Tickets $10 Adv. at Fastixx show at 9 p.m. Shortbus is the third attempt at music stardom from the guys formerly of Sublime, the lead singer sounds really similar to Bradley and the music still follows the same formula, so this show will only be a temporary fix for sublime fans.

Go see Hank Williams III and Redneck Girlfriend Jan. 24 at the Chop Suey. Tickets $15 adv. show at 9 p.m. Hank III is much cooler than his father and his father before him. He plays two different shows each time he performs; one show is rockabilly and the other is a metal show. The performances have different musicians for each. As well, the mixture of musical styles show that the heir to country music knows his father's music of choice is best left a generation behind.
