Opera Workshop Performances
7:30pm, Campus Theater
The annual Opera Workshop Performances feature operatic scenes with piano accompaniment and a premier of a new one-act opera, Surfer, A Comic Book Odyssey by Bruce Monroe, performed with orchestra. Susan Dolacky is the producer-music director, and Ann Arends is the staging director. General admission is $12, $10 for seniors and SCC faculty and staff, and $8 for children 14 and younger and SCC students with college ID.

Saul Williams: An Evening of Spoken Word
7:30pm, Gymnasium
Saul Williams is the starring actor and co-writer of the film Slam, which won the 1998 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize for its portrayal of the prison spoken word movement. Williams is a poet, performance artist, writer and actor who has been described as the Hip Hop generation's Khalil Gibran. Voted "Best Actor" by the Independent Film Council for his role in Slam, Williams is also featured in the documentary Underground Voices, directed by Tony Award-winning poet Reg E. Gaines. His poetry has been featured in The New York Times, Bomb Magazine, Red Clay Magazine and African Voices. General admission is $10, $7 for seniors and SCC faculty and staff, and $5 for children 14 and younger and SCC students with college ID.

The Skin of Our Teeth
7:30pm, Campus Theater
This is the story of the Antrobus family down through the ages from the time of the war " any war. They have survived a thousand calamities " flood, fire, pestilence, ice age, the pox and the double feature, depressions and wars " by the skin of their teeth. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, this play is a testament of faith in humanity. The New York Herald Tribune called it a tremendously exciting and profound stage fable. Written by Thornton Wilder; directed by Chris Fisher. General admission is $8, $7 for seniors and SCC faculty and staff, and $6 for children 14 and younger and SCC students with college ID.

Student Afternoon Recital

Music performed by students of the SCC Music Department. This hour of entertainment will send you back to work or class refreshed and ready to face the rain. Free.

Concert Band and Choral Union Concert
7:30pm, Shorecrest Performing Arts Center
General admission is $6, $4 for seniors and SCC faculty and staff, and $2 for children 14 and younger and SCC students with college ID.

Small Ensemble Choir
12:30pm, Music Building, Room 818
Featuring the many small instrumental ensembles available in the Music Dept. Free.

March 24, 2002
Choir of the Sound and Orchestra
25th Anniversary Concert
4pm, Meany Hall, UW
The choir with over 60 voices and an orchestra of 80 instruments performs familiar choruses of major works by such composers as Bach, Beethoven, Handel, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Rutter, Verdi, Vivaldi and Boito. Puget Sound area soloists Catherine Haight, Emily Stallcop Horrox, Emily Lunde, Howard Fankhouser and Brian Box will be featured. Join the COS to celebrate their 25th anniversary.
