SCC University Transfer Fair Nov. 29
.

The life of a community college student can be extremely busy. Many students are trying to juggle two or three classes, part-time jobs and even families! On top of all that, transfer students are still trying to find time to visit and explore four-year colleges and universities.

Advising and Counseling is making it easier for transfer students to hook up with universities at the annual College Transfer Fair. This year, the fair will take place on Thursday, November 29 from 9:00 a.m.--12:30 p.m. in the SUB (PUB) Main Dining Room.

Representatives from 18 various universities will be on campus to talk to SCC students about their transfer needs, answer questions, and pass out information about their college.

Fall is an excellent time for transfer students to begin choosing a university since many of the deadlines are during Spring Quarter. However, students should apply as early as possible to ensure that they are accepted into their university of choice. Students will then have time to order transcripts, write essays and complete their application packets.

Most universities require that a student be admitted into the university before they are considered for some major programs. For example, the University of Washington suggests that students turn in university applications at least four weeks prior to the deadline for their major, if any.

This year, the following universities will attend the fair: The Art Institute, Bastyr, Central Washington University, City University, Cogswell, Cornish, Eastern Washington University, The Evergreen State College, Northwest College, Pacific Lutheran College, Seattle Art Institute, Seattle Pacific University, Seattle University, University of Puget Sound, University of Washington, Washington State University, Western Washington University, and ROTC.
