Sexual Assault may not have happened

A sexual assault was reported Nov. 10 at the SCC Parent-Child Center, but the pre-school-aged child who described inappropriate touching occurring at the Parent-Child Center later said the alleged "man" was "not real."

That, with other elaborations from the child, has afforded the parents enough ease to keep the child enrolled at the center.

According to Parent-Child center director Darlene Bakes, the case is currently being investigated by the King County Sheriff's office in cooperation with Child Protection Services.

Parents of children in the Parent-Child Center have been notified that authorities must follow through with the investigation.

"The safety of the children is always our highest priority," said Bakes.

No suspects were identified and Bakes said the case's completion is expected within 90 days.
