Japanese hospitality students share culture

It’s almost the end of a 10-month stay in Seattle for the Hospitality and Tourism students from Japan.

The Hospitality and Tourism College (HTC) program helps Japanese students, who come from Trajal college (one of the largest hospitality industry training colleges in Japan), experience American culture and explore their future career through internships.

MLK Food Drive exceeds goals, inspires students

SCC's Martin Luther King Day Food Drive beat their 25,000-pound collection goal by over 1,000 pounds. Held at nine different grocery stores in North King county, the drive collected 26,233 pounds of food Jan. 18.

Campus housing may soon be available

SCC students may soon be able to sleep next door to campus.

Talks with other community colleges about their on-campus housing led Shoreline to explore different housing options.

"We see the importance of  being able to offer student housing. Right now we are investigating ways into doing so," said Jim Hills, interim special assistant to the president for marketing and public relations.
