Dick Stucky has been named the newest member of the
Shoreline Board of Trustees by Gov. Gary Locke.
Stucky has an extensive career in technology and math
education, in charge of the development and management
of the Computer Education Program and the secondary
mathematics program for the Shoreline School District
from 1980 to 1988. He managed the K-12 computer
education and mathematics programs until his retirement
in 1995. During his tenure at the school district,
Stucky was responsible for the development and
implementation of the CRT (Computer Resource Teacher)
Program and the K-3 and 4-6 computer education
curriculum that became models for school districts
across the state. He became a member of the Shoreline
Public School Foundation in 1996 where he served as a
co-president from 2000 to 2003. He taught
mathematics at the high school level prior to 1980 and
was registrar at Shorecrest High School for several
years. Since his retirement from the Shoreline
School District in 1995, Stucky has been involved in
professional activities at the local, state and national
levels. Mr. Stucky will attend his first BOT
meeting January 26, 2005.
